We have the pleasure to announce you that Groundwater Engineering Research Centre will organize the first International Workshop on Urban Hydrogeology, entitled "Progresses and challenges in hydrogeological modeling of the urban environment - support for management and effective protection of groundwater".

This project will be materialized by organizing an international seminar on groundwater issues in urban areas.

This project has been achieved within the competition 2011-2012: Joint Research Cooperation Programme Switzerland –Romania and will take place over a period of 3 years.

We have the pleasure to announce you that Mr. eng. Alin Diaconescu, CCIAS member, won an education/ research scholarship in Germany, financed by Germania Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt. (www.dbu.de)

The scholarship will finance his activity at Tubingen University during a year.

We are expecting you on 31.03.2012 between 10:00-15:00 at ROMEXPO, where the CCIAS members will hold a presentation for: „New trends in construction - presented by the Technical University of Civil Engineering experts”.

The event will take place in room C2 (Construct Expo).

On March 24 2012, Groundwater Research Center members celebrated in Herastrau park The Global Water Day. They offered interesting and useful information, organized games and contest on water theme, giving as presents colored balloons and special prizes.

We are expecting you on 24 March 2012 to celebrate with Groundwater Research Center, The Global Water Day.

The event will be held in Herastrau Park, Expo Flora area at 10.00 - 15.00.

Students from Faculty of Hydrotechnics, Technical University of Civil Engineering, are waiting for you with useful and interesting information, games and competitions on water theme, and also with colored balloons, gifts and special awards.

We have the pleasure to announce you that within the International Workshop: "Solving Contaminat Problems for a Sustainable Environment through Application of Environmental Engineering and Science Concepts", Dragos Gaitanaru presented "Brownfield Revitalization An Integrated Approach ECOSID Hunedoara". The workshop was hosted by the Faculty of Hydrotechnics, Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest and was held on March 8, 2012 - Room II 7 (Radu Priscu Amphitheater).

We have the pleasure to announce you that Alberto Jimenez Madrid, our close partner (within a scientific collaboration protocol between IGME and UTCB) that developed a doctoral internship in the Hydraulics and Environmental Protection Laboratory, received the William Dearman award for the best scientific article of a researcher under 30 years.
